Rent-A-Center Team Members Help Feed Millions of Families
Each year since 2003, Rent-A-Center team members at the company’s Texas headquarters have campaigned on behalf of the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) to help fight hunger at the local level. In 2013, NTFB recognized Rent-A-Center as Corporate Innovator of the Year for its creative mix of campaign programming, which has raised more than $625,000 for NTFB to date — the equivalent of providing 1.8 million meals to families in North Texas.
Together, team members at Rent-A-Center headquarters volunteer to design and orchestrate the campaign, driving participation through team-sponsored meals, activities, and raffles. They have hosted everything from bake sales and homemade salsa tastings to lunchtime cookouts and preparing unconventional food items like meals-on-sticks. There’s also a fun run, golf tournament, car wash, and happy hour. All proceeds benefit the NTFB.
Why do we do it? Because our company’s mission and core values focus on improving our customers’ quality of life by acting with a servant’s heart. Ninety-three cents of every dollar donated to the NTFB goes directly to supporting programs that provide food to children, seniors, and families.
Individuals can make a monetary donation online or give canned goods to a local food pantry, shelter, or after-school or senior citizen program through any one of the 250 NTFB partner agencies.
