Homemade Christmas Décor: Marble Polish Ornaments
Using red and white nail polish and clear glass ornaments, you can create homemade Christmas ornaments that look like peppermints. Each one is unique and will look perfect on your tree or could make a neat gift.
What you will need:
- Glass ball ornaments
- Small bowl
- Water
- Nail polish
- Toothpick
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Fill a small bowl with room-temperature water to within a ½ inch of the rim. Add drops of nail polish to the water, alternating red and white.
- Once you’ve added six drops of polish, use a toothpick to comb through the polish and create a marbleized pattern. Work quickly, as the nail polish will harden and be unusable after a couple of minutes.
- Dip a glass ball into the polish-filled water to transfer the marbleized pattern to the ornament. Gently shake off excess water and let dry, with the marbleized polish facing upward.
Note: If you are making more than one ornament, use a toothpick to comb through the water to remove any residual polish before beginning the next ornament.
- Use scissors to cut a ribbon hanger for your ornament. Once the polish has dried, string ribbon through the loop at the top of the ball to hang.
