Homemade Christmas Decoration: Snowman Ornament
Who says you need snow to build a snowman? Instead, you can make an adorable DIY snowman ornament. (And this one won’t melt!) It’s an easy, budget-friendly holiday craft the whole family can enjoy.
Materials:
- Glass ball ornament
- Cotton balls
- Scissors
- Paint pens: orange + black
- Floss
- Pipe cleaners
- Glue gun
- Pom-poms
Step 1
Remove the hanger clasp from the ornament. Cut cotton balls into fourths to create small snowlike pieces. Fill the ornament with the cotton ball pieces.
Step 2
Using the orange paint pen, draw on a carrot nose. Draw the coal eyes and mouth with the black paint pen.
Step 3
Knot an 8-inch piece of floss around the metal hanger. Secure the metal hanger back on the ornament.
Step 4
Take a few pipe cleaners and join them together, alternating colors, starting with the red. Tie the red end of the pipe cleaners around the top of the ornament, and wrap it around until it covers the metal hanger. Take the remaining strand of pipe cleaners and continue wrapping until you’ve formed a hat shape. With the glue gun setting on low, use a dab of hot glue to secure the end of the pipe cleaners to the ornament.
Step 5
Glue a pom-pom to the top of the pipe-cleaner hat.
Once the glue has set, your snowman ornament is ready for your tree!
