pb-treat_lead1_762

In honor of a deliciously creamy holiday – National Peanut Butter Day, on January 24 – we’ve put together a tasty, peanut butter-packed recipe. These chocolate peanut butter pretzel bars are perfect no-bake treats that combine salty and sweet into one delicious square.

What you need:

  • 9 x 5-inch loaf pan
  • Tinfoil
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 2 c. creamy peanut butter
  • ¾ c. (1½ sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 c. powdered sugar
  • 3 c. small pretzel twists, roughly chopped into ½-inch pieces
  • 2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Step 1
Line your baking pan with tinfoil. Lightly spray foil with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.

Step 2
Beat 1¼ cups peanut butter and 1¼ cups butter in a mixing bowl until creamy. Gradually stir in 2 cups powdered sugar.

Step 3
Add in 2½ cups pretzel pieces and ½ cup chocolate chips. Once mixed, press the mixture evenly into your prepared baking pan.

Step 4
Microwave remaining 1½ cups chocolate chips and ¾ cup peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl on medium-high for 45 seconds. Stir. If necessary, microwave again for additional 10-15 second intervals until chocolate chips have completely melted.

Step 5
Spread melted chocolate evenly over peanut butter-sugar mixture. Sprinkle with remaining pretzel pieces. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours until firm. Cut into pieces before serving.
