How to Make Rent to Own Work for You

payment freeze iconPut down that credit card. Walk away from high-interest financing. If you’re looking for a smart way to get the furniture, electronics, computers, appliances, and smartphones you need, then consider rent to own, or RTO for short.

At Rent-A-Center, we make it easy to have the products you want—on the terms that work best for you.

Pay Your Way
When you rent to own at Rent-A-Center, you have a choice in how you want to pay. You can pay for the item in full at the cash price; opt for a 90-day payment plan**; or pay as you go with fixed weekly, semiweekly, or monthly payments without accruing interest.

Your Money, Your Investment
If you choose a payment plan, the amount owed doesn’t ebb and flow according to interest rates. Every dollar you pay goes toward your balance until it reaches zero.

Your Needs Matter
If your situation changes and you need to stop your rental agreement, it’s not a problem. Simply let a Rent-A-Center customer service agent know, and we’ll work out the details.

Upgrades Approved
You can swap out or upgrade** your item at any time. So if you need a larger HDTV, we’ve got one. If you want the newest laptop or tablet, you can upgrade to a faster, more powerful machine. And there’s never any reason to hold onto last year’s smartphone.

**Agreement requires verification of residence, income and four personal references. Delivery and set-up are included, and Rent-A-Center services and maintains the merchandise while on rent or in New Jersey, for duration stated on agreement; set-up does not include connection of gas appliances. For model upgrades, simply return the product you are currently renting and open a new agreement for another model. You can return your product and freeze your payments. To restart an agreement on a returned product, Rent-A-Center will retain your payment records for two years. Thereafter, simply bring in your last payment receipt for reinstatement. In Vermont, minimum 18-week rental period applies. 90 days same as cash not available in Vermont.
