Oh, Snap! Samsung Galaxy S9 Takes Awesome Pictures (and Other Great Stuff)

Samsung GalaxyS9Just when you thought smartphones couldn’t pack any more photo power, Samsung launches the innovative, light-sensing Galaxy S9. This slim-and-trim smartphone has all the right tools to take spectacular snaps — among other amazing features.

Like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with two cameras: front and rear. Unlike its predecessor, however, the new S9 offers dual aperture on the rear camera, which features two modes so that it can adapt to bright or low light automatically.

When the camera is in F1.5 aperture mode, photos taken in low light (or even in the dark) come out clear. During the day, the lens shifts to F2.4 aperture mode to ensure the light is right for a sharp, color-correct image. All this without any action by you.

Also new is the Super Slow-mo, which lets you capture every eye blink and expression for a detailed experience. You can even sync the video to music, turn it into a GIF, or set it as your Lock screen.

Especially fun is Samsung’s augmented reality technology that lets you turn your selfie into your very own personalized emoji. You can even put your animated self into a video.

Music lovers will appreciate the speakers tuned by AKG and enhanced with multidimensional sound from Dolby Atmos, meaning the listening experience is nothing but powerful.

Physically, not much has changed with the Samsung Galaxy S9. It still boasts the same, sleek look. The 5.8-inch edge-to-edge infinity display provides plenty of space to watch videos, view photos, surf the web, and text.

However, one significant improvement is the new placement of the fingerprint sensor used to unlock the phone. It’s now in an easily accessible location on the back of the phone, below the camera.

Keeping your information private is also a top priority. With Samsung Knox, sensitive data is protected and secure. You can use iris, fingerprint, face, pattern, password, or PIN technology to open your phone.

Oh, and everyone’s worst fear? Rain, puddles, spilled water. If your phone gets wet, no worries. The Galaxy S9 is water-resistant. The IP68 rating means its protected in case of drizzle (submerging it in water is still a no-no).
